Children of Courage

This awards program is open to children between the ages of 5 – 15 years who have special needs and have shown courage in the face of adversity.  Such children include those who are confined to wheelchairs, who are sight, hearing or speech impaired or have undergone long periods of medical treatment, surgery or hospitalization which has perhaps brought pain and trauma to their young lives.

Or, they could be a child who without regard for personal safety, hs been instrumental in the preservation of life and/or property or has rendered assistance at an accident or whose concern for others is worthy of recognition.

It could be a child who has overcome personal hardship and/or disadvantage to achieve a high degree of sporting prowess as an individual or as a good team member.

On the Awards Day, 18 April 2010, they are presented with a medal, framed certificate, photograph and a toy.  Lunch is provided for them and their family.

If you know of a child who fits into one of the above categories, please contact Chris Smelt ianandchrissmelt@bigpond.com
