Is it possible for me as an individual Lion to make a difference in this world? The resounding answer is a definite YES.
If you have a great idea for a worthwhile Lions Project, firstly share it with your fellow Lions in your Club. Your Lions Club may adopt it as a Club Project.
If the Project works at Club level in YOUR community would it work in other communities in the District? If so, why not make it a District Project. Simply submit the idea by way of a motion to the District Convention. If enough delegates (Lions Clubs) agree with you the Project could become a District Project.
If the Project works at District Level, would it be suitable for All Australian Districts to be involved in. The District could submit it as a Multiple District Project. If all the other Districts think it is a good idea it could become a Multiple District Project. If it works for Australia-region>, would it work in other countries? The Multiple District could submit it as a Lions International Project.
Can you see how one person’s idea can have worldwide ramifications? The power is yours to share.
There are three levels of Conventions each Lionistic Year
W1 DISTRICT CONVENTION
2010 MULTIPLE DISTRICT CONVENTION
2012 PERTH MULTIPLE DISTRICT CONVENTION
LIONS INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION
Conventions are where Lions get together to make decisions on directions for the coming year. It is where we elect our District Governors, our Foundation Directors, our Projects, our Council Chairman, our International Directors and our World Presidents. It is where we share ideas and experiences. It is where we meet old friends. It is where we meet new friends. It is where we are informed and inspired. Be part of it.
