Lions in WA environmental projects

🌱 Lions in WA – Environmental Projects 🌏🦁

Across Western Australia, Lions Clubs and the District are taking action to protect and preserve our environment through a wide range of meaningful projects. 💚

From local community initiatives to large-scale district programs, Lions are making a lasting impact by:
♻️ Operating recycling centres and collection programs
🏡 Running Second-Hand Sheds to give unwanted items a new life
🛍️ Supporting communities through Op Shops
💻 Collecting and recycling used spectacles, hearing aids, mobile phones, batteries, and e-waste
🌳 Organising tree planting, bush regeneration, and community beautification projects
🧹 Hosting community clean-up days and reducing litter in our local areas
🌏 Promoting sustainability through reuse, recycling, and environmental education

Whether it’s a Club-led project making a difference in a local community or a District initiative bringing Lions together across Western Australia, every effort helps reduce waste, conserve resources, and create cleaner, greener communities.

Our environmental projects demonstrate the Lions motto, “We Serve,” by caring not only for people but also for the world we all share. 💙🌿

Together, we’re making a positive impact—one project at a time. 🌱🦁💚

Lions Myalup Pines Cottages

Lions Myalup Pines Cottages
Nestled within the Myalup Pine Forest, Lions Myalup Pines Cottages is a not‑for‑profit Lions project offering affordable, low‑impact accommodation in a peaceful natural setting, just 150 kilometres south of Perth.
Originally built in the 1930s to house forestry workers, the cottages have been preserved and repurposed to provide a sustainable community resource. The site is leased from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions and is managed by a volunteer Board of Lions, ensuring the focus remains on service rather than profit.
The village comprises seven rustic timber cottages and shared facilities, making it ideal for families, schools, community groups, and Lions camps. A strong emphasis is placed on environmental stewardship, with strict protections in place to safeguard local wildlife and forest ecosystems.
Lions Myalup Pines Cottages reflects Lions’ commitment to environmental responsibility, community access to nature, and responsible land management, creating a place where people can reconnect, learn, and enjoy the natural environment.
